How this works, plainly
- One vote per person per entry. You have to be signed in — it keeps bots and burner accounts out.
- Votes advise editors. They never publish anything, and they never pull anything down.
- Votes cannot be bought, sponsored or bundled with a partnership.
- An editor still checks every entry for permission, accuracy and the people in it before it runs.
- Counts stay visible all the way through. Nothing is tallied in private.
- The People's Pick is announced by the desk once voting closes, with the reason it was chosen.
