What you can expect from us, and what we need from you.

Buying a numbered copy

Every copy in an edition carries a number. Your number is assigned when your payment clears, not when you add it to a basket, and it is yours from that moment.

Editions are capped. When the last number is claimed the listing closes and the run is never reprinted. If a copy is returned or an order is cancelled, that number goes back into the pool and the waitlist gets first call.

Presale copies ship after printing. If a print date moves, we tell you. If you would rather not wait, ask for a refund before your copy ships and you get one.

Refunds

Unshipped copies: full refund, no argument. Damaged in the post: send us a photo and we replace it. Once a copy has shipped and arrived intact, it is a collector item and the sale stands.

Donations are not refundable and are not tax deductible — TRADES is a business, not a charity.

Sending something in

You keep the copyright in what you send. You give TRADES permission to review it, and — only after we come back to you — to publish it. The full terms are in the

You confirm you have the right to send the material, and permission from anyone recognisable in it. If that turns out not to be true, we take it down.

We publish nothing without confirming with you first. Nothing you send can be bought back out of us by a sponsor, and no sponsor decides what runs.

Recognition and nominations

Recognition is free and cannot be bought. Sponsorship, donations and giveaways never earn a story, a call-out or a kind word in print.

Nobody is named publicly as a nominee until they have been asked and said yes.

Using the site

Don't send anything unlawful, don't upload other people's work as your own, and don't scrape or re-publish our pages. We can close an account that does.

We try to keep the site up and correct, but we don't promise perfection. Our liability is limited to what you paid us.

Changes

If these terms change in a way that matters, we say so on this page and email anyone it affects. Questions: hello@readtradesmagazine.com.
