Photo and Video Release

Every photo and clip sent to TRADES comes with this. Ticking the permission box on the send form is you confirming all of it, and we keep a timestamped record of that.

01

You took it, or you have the right to send it

The photo or video is yours, or the person who made it said you could send it. It is not lifted off the internet or from someone else's job.

02

The people in it said yes

Anyone recognisable — face, name badge, truck livery — knows the image may be published by a magazine and is fine with it. If a face in the frame has not agreed, tell us and we blur it or leave it out.

03

The site is fair game

You are not breaking a customer's privacy, an NDA or a site rule by sending it. Nothing in frame identifies a client's home address or a person's private details.

04

What we may do with it

Print it in the magazine, show it on this site, use it in the newsletter and on our social channels, and keep it in the archive — with the credit you chose, including anonymous.

05

What we will not do

Sell it to a stock library, hand it to a sponsor for an advert, or use it to say something about you or your company that you did not say.

06

Minors

Anyone under 18 in the frame needs a parent or guardian's permission. If you cannot get it, send the photo without them in it.

07

Safety

We may decline a photo showing unsafe work, or run it with context. We will never publish it to humiliate the person in it.

08

Changing your mind

Ask us to pull an image and it comes off the site and out of anything not yet printed. Copies already printed cannot be recalled.
